Pane Olio is a warm, neighbourhood restaurant located in the heart of Rhiwbina and inspired by the simple pleasures of Tuscany.

Our cooking is rooted in traditional Italian techniques, using the finest, carefully sourced ingredients, many imported directly from Italy, and letting them speak for themselves.

With a welcoming atmosphere and flavours that celebrate tradition, Pane Olio is a place to gather, slow down, and enjoy food made with heart.

The Deli

Pane Olio Deli is a casual extension of our Tuscan table, offering the everyday essentials of Italian living.

From freshly baked bread and house-made focaccia to cured meats, cheeses, and ready-to-go favourites, the deli is designed for simple, satisfying meals at home or on the move.

Rooted in tradition and crafted with care, it’s a place where quality ingredients and timeless flavours come together effortlessly.

Our Story

Head Chef David Thomas was born and raised in Rhiwbina and began his culinary career in Wales before spending more than eight years living and working in Italy.

During this time, he was based in Tuscany, cooking in restaurants across the region and gaining a deep, first-hand understanding of Italian food with its focus on simplicity, seasonality, and respect for exceptional produce.

Pane Olio reflects David’s journey and philosophy, a return to honest Italian cooking, done properly.
